Leona Carthy

Leona Carthy is a Jamaican born, digital artist, graphic designer, creative consultant and undercover writer. Armed with her Graphic design degree, Leona began her artistic journey.

Motivated by her love and devotion for all things intricate, abstract and unusual, this versatile creative in 2015 launched Leoart, her graphic design business. Leona takes a unique approach to her creative production by filling all of the roles, from branding and advertisements, designing website interfaces, to flyers and book covers. Her distinct style is easily recognizable and highly original.
 
Leona's contributions have since represented myriads of organizations, businesses and artists, such as the foundation Fabienne Colas—creating for Haiti en Folie, Montreal International Black Film Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Fondue au Noire and Gala Dynastie, Audace au Feminin - Salon International De La Femme Noire to name a few. Having exhibited for the first time locally for “Les Égéries Noires” at Place-des-Arts in 2016, her art has since then adorned the walls of private collectors and her designs have branded clients in Canada, Senegal and the U.S.A. In 2018, she was awarded “The Best Graphic designer” at the Heart of Gold Award ceremony.
