Eddy Firmin is an artist-researcher. He holds a PhD in Arts Studies and Practices (UQAM) and a master’s degree from École Supérieure d’Art et Design le Havre-Rouen (France). Since 2017, Eddy Firmin has coordinated the publication of decolonial magazine Minorit’Art. He is also an exhibition curator and currently a visiting professor at Université Laval’s art school. In his research, Eddy Firmin takes a particular interest in the politics of knowledge sharing and the conflicts that Eurocentric knowledge creates for the colonized artist. In his artistic practice, he calls into question the transcultural logics of his identity, as well as the power relations at play.
